It was Thanksgiving day, and I was sitting with my family watching the Macy’s parade. During a commercial I checked my emails on my phone, and I saw that I had just received an email from one of my clients.

At first, I thought he was wishing me a Happy Thanksgiving. When I took a closer look, it was one of the automated emails I wrote for his email list!

And then it hit me…my client is still marketing his business…even when he is off work enjoying his family…and just like me, his market is probably checking their emails as they sit around enjoying their time off.

Understanding the True Power of Marketing

Now, I’ve known the power of email marketing and have been using it in my business for quite some time. It’s also something I encourage and offer to clients as a powerful strategy to stay in front of prospects and clients consistently.

It’s just that in the moment of seeing that email in my inbox, I had an even bigger epiphany, a deep realization, that as business owners, we can truly be in front of our target market all the time…even on holidays!

Think about it…

When are people home? Holidays. When do they have the most uninterrupted time? Holidays. When are they thinking about their problems? In their free time which includes holidays. And if they’re thinking about their problems, what else are they considering? Potential solutions, right?!

Essentially, they’re thinking about you. (They just may not know it yet) …

That’s where marketing and advertising come in. It’s about capturing someone’s attention at the very moment they’re seeking a solution to their problems. And as business owners we are in the problem-solving business.

 Maybe you’ve never thought of yourself that way, but for the sake of the rest of this post, just consider the fact that no matter what you do or what you sell, at the end of the day your client or customer is walking away better off than when they first found you.
